Dr. Peilin Zhang joined Pacific Rim Pathology in 2023 after previously working at the New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. He graduated with his M.D. from Beijing University Medical School in 1987, earned his Ph.D. from the University of New South Wales in 1993, and completed a pathology residency at the UCSD Medical Center from 1997 to 2001. Dr. Zhang has been board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology since 2001.
Dr. Zhang has completed medical fellowships in surgical pathology and placental/perinatal pathology at UCSD Medical Center following his residency. His specialties include a focus in obstetric placental and perinatal pathology. He has published more than 80+ papers and book chapters focused upon molecular pathology, autoimmune disease, and placental pathology.
In addition to his role at Pacific Rim, Dr. Zhang is currently a member of the College of American Pathologists and the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology.
