Dr. Omid Bakhtar joined Pacific Rim Pathology in 2007 after completing his residency at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). He graduated from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2002 and completed his pathology residency at UCSD from 2002-2007. Dr. Bakhtar has been board certified in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology since 2007.

Dr. Bakhtar has served as the Vice President of Pacific Rim Pathology since 2011. His areas of expertise include breast pathology and surgical pathology with an emphasis on gastrointestinal pathology.

Dr. Bakhtar currently serves as the Medical Director for Outpatient Laboratory Services at Sharp Healthcare, the co-director of Chemistry at Sharp Memorial Hospital, and a member of the Cancer Committee at Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center. He is also currently a member of the College of American Pathologists, the American Society of Clinical Pathologists, and the American Medical Association.
