Dr. Octavio Armas joined Pacific Rim Pathology in 1994. He graduated with his medical doctorate from the UCSD School of Medicine in 1987 and completed his pathology residency at The Johns Hopkins Hospital from 1987-1993. Following his residency, Dr. Armas completed a fellowship in oncologic pathology at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center from 1992-1993.
Since 2016, Dr. Armas has served as the medical director of Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center Laboratory. His areas of expertise include oncology, genitourinary pathology and gastrointestinal pathology.
In addition to his role at Pacific Rim, Dr. Armas is an active member of the medical staff at Sharp Grossmont Hospital, Sharp Memorial Hospital, Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center, and El Centro Regional Medical Center.
